After the last election, preachers across the country reached for an old verse to bless a new vote: God called Nebuchadnezzar my servant, so God can use anybody. The verse is real. The trouble is what the whole passage says, because God sent that king as a rod against the very people now quoting him, and the prophet who promised it would all work out died with a lie in his mouth.
